A new ax attack shocks Brazil again. In this case, it was a 14-year-old boy who attacked two 9-year-old girls at a school in Brazil with an ax on Wednesday. The attacker was arrested and was prosecuted for attempted murder, while the victims had to be transferred to a hospital and one of them is hospitalized.
The event occurred on Wednesday afternoon at a school in the rural area of Farías Brito, a town that is located within the Carirí region, which belongs to the state of Ceará, located in the north of the country.
On this occasion, the two victims – who are in the fourth grade of primary school – had to be transferred to a hospital in Barbalha after the serious attacks they received from the 14-year-old teenager.
One of the girls continues in intensive care and is waiting for an operation to be performed on her for a serious head injury, while the other was discharged. On his part, the young assailant was arrested and prosecuted for attempted murder.
The school immediately adopted the disciplinary measures corresponding to the aggressor student, and is also providing assistance to those involved, offering psychological and medical follow-up to the victims and relatives, according to O’Globo.
For his part, the Secretary of Education of the Municipality, Júnior Almeida, suspended classes for the next two days and reported that the attack took place during the afternoon, but within school hours, so the children were inside the classrooms. .
Elmano de Freitas, Governor of Ceará, is on a trip to China with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Through Twitter, the official lamented the attack: “Since my official mission to China, I have followed this unfortunate episode of violence that occurred today in a municipal school in Farias Brito, in the Cariri region. Our Government will have what is necessary to support the municipality and the families”.

The Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, explained in dialogue with the GloboNews news channel that the National Consumer Secretariat will begin procedures to determine the responsibility of social networks in disseminating threats.
“We have two paths that we are going to adopt concurrently: on the one hand, administrative sanctions that can lead to the suspension of the company’s activity. And, in the event of a breach, we could reach the limit of them stopping working, ”he added.

What is striking about this new attack with an ax in Brazil is that it occurs eight days after the brutal crime of four girls between the ages of 4 and 7 who were attacked with an ax by a 25-year-old man in a kindergarten in the town of Blumenau, state of Santa Catarina, bordering the province of Misiones.
Bernardo Cunha Machado, 5 years old; Bernardo Pabest da Cunha, 4 years old; Larissa Maia Toldo, 7 years old; and Enzo Marchesin Barbosa, 4, died after Luiz Henrique de Lima, a man who worked as a delivery boy, entered the garden and attacked the children with an ax.
The attack occurred shortly after 10 a.m., when De Lima jumped over a wall of the store and immediately began hitting the boys over the head with an axe. He then jumped over the wall again and fled on a motorcycle. He turned himself in shortly after to the Military Police Battalion.
Ulisses Gabriel, general delegate of the Santa Catarina Civil Police, specified that the defendant was involved in a fight in a nightclub (2016), stabbed his stepfather (2021), was arrested for possession of cocaine (2022) and vandalized the his stepfather’s house and stabbing his dog (2022).
Gabriel indicated that De Lima will be prosecuted for four counts of triple murder and four attempted triple murders after the attack on the Cantinho do Bom Pastor private kindergarten. “The police faced one of the worst days for him,” he said.
