Nearly 160 survivors of a convicted sex offender file a new lawsuit against him.
This is the former obstetrician and gynecologist at Columbia University Hospital, Robert Hadden.
This is the second civil lawsuit against Hadden to be filed in recent weeks.
The plaintiffs’ attorney, Jeff Herman, says he found evidence showing the University was aware of his abuse as far back as 1992.
Hadden was sentenced to 20 years in prison and fined $10,000.
The lawsuit was made possible by the New York Adult Survivors Law.
That law created a one-year window for people to sue their abusers and organizations that may have enabled their abuse.
The deadline to submit new claims will close at the end of this month.
