New cassettes are in the works
Hip musicians like Taylor Swift, Kraftklub or Blackpink released their works in 2022 as MC (musiccassette). Also radio play classics from “The three ???” appear again as MC.

However, the Society for Consumer Research (GfK) cannot confirm a broad trend. In comparison, audio streaming services on smartphones are much more convenient and faster. The Federal Association of the Music Industry counted 19.8 million cassettes sold in 2002, in 2021 only 100,000.
It looks better with the comeback of instant cameras. There are new digital cameras that can print out photos immediately, as well as retro models for enthusiasts. More than 400,000 instant cameras are sold again each year.
