The British have no desire to see Harry and Meghan at the coronation of their king next May, according to a recent poll by The Independent.

Everyone is watching, but no one wants to see them. 43% of Britons think Harry and Meghan should not be invited to Charles III’s coronation on May 6, according to a recent Savanta ComRes poll commissioned by The Independent.

And more than half of those polled (55%) believe Harry should be stripped of his Duke of Sussex title. That is 11% more than last December, according to a survey commissioned by the Times. A poll that goes in the direction of many other popularity polls commissioned and relayed by the British and American press.

More welcome

The public thus judges very severely the lament of the couple in his documentary Harry & Meghan, broadcast on Netflix, as well as the many revelations of the prince about his family, in his book The Alternateairing on Netflix in early December.

This does not, on the contrary, prevent the documentary and the book from breaking audience records and prancing at the top of the sales charts, and bringing in big profits for Netflix and the publisher Penguin Random House.

Neither Charles nor William reacted to the many accusations against them in Harry’s memoir. They let nothing filter out of what they think of it, posting each time the question was posed to them, a smile of facade and an obstinate silence.

But the British press reported, citing anonymous sources, the dissatisfaction of the Windsors, several tabloids ensuring that Harry and Meghan were no longer welcome at this event with a global audience, already darkened by the quarrel.
