The Buffalo Bills player, who had spent several days in hospital in critical condition in January after a shock received in the chest in the middle of the game which had caused cardiac arrest, was authorized to play again.
Damar Hamlin, a Buffalo Bills player who suffered a cardiac arrest during a game in January, returned to training on Tuesday (April 18) in the hope of resuming his American League career at 25. American football (NFL).
“What I went through changed my life, but that’s not the end of my story, I have every intention of playing in the NFL again”he said after his first training session in more than three months. “All my life, I have defied the odds and I intend to continue”insisted the “safety”, a position in the defensive formation of the Bills.
On January 2, during a regular season game of the NFL Championship, opposing his team to Cincinnati, Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a terrible shock suffered while tackling an opponent. After remaining in critical condition for several days, he regained consciousness and was discharged from hospital on 11 January.

“He is back with a good state of mind and he wants to make his comeback” in competitionexplained the general manager of the Bills Brandon Beane. He saw a final specialist on Friday and all the specialists he saw cleared him to return to training, like any other player returning from injury.”said the manager.
The Bills’ No. 3, who made his NFL debut in 2021, knows what he’s been through, followed by tens of millions of viewers: “I died live on TV in front of the whole planet (…) But being alive is the greatest gift”he admitted. I love this sport, I want to prove to myself and no one else that I can come back. I want to prove that we can choose to be afraid or that we can continue” to do what you love, hammered Hamlin. His first training was limited to ground exercises and bodybuilding: “Physically, I’m starting from scratch”he admitted.
The Buffalo Bills who, after his cardiac arrest, passed the first round of the play-offs before being eliminated by Cincinnati in the next round (27-10). The 2023 NFL Championship season kicks off on September 7.
