Nick Carter, the singer of the band ‘Backstreet Boys’, has received a new lawsuit for an alleged sexual assault. The complainant is a woman who claims to have been raped several times in 2003, when she was 15 years old and the artist was 23. The facts were brought to the attention of the Clark County District Court last Monday.

The victim, whose identity is hidden behind the initials AR, she accuses the singer of getting her drunk before abusing her both on a yacht and on a bus. In addition, she affirms that Nick Carter “forced her to keep the sexual abuse a secret” and does not rule out that she could have infected him with the human papillomavirus.

Carter totally denies the facts and his lawyer, Dale Hayes Jr., alleges that the events occurred twenty years ago and that at that time the authorities decided not to proceed with the investigations, considering that there was insufficient evidence that the sexual assault had occurred. “He is repeating the same false accusations in a new legal complaint“, has underlined.

two extraneous causes

The complaint filed on August 28 is not the first that Nick Carter has received for sexual assault. The first to do so was fellow singer Melissa Schumann, who did it in 2017. When the alleged events occurred, he was 22 years old and she was 18. On her blog, Melissa Explain Everything, the artist narrated how in the office of a filming set they began to kiss and, despite the fact that “I told him that I did not want to go any further”, he unbuttoned his pants and performed oral sex on him without consent.

Later, Carter asked Melissa to do the same, alluding to him having done it to her. Schuman agreed thinking that it was the only solution to end the situation, but it was not like that. “He threw me on the bed and climbed on top of me. I once again told her that she was a virgin and that she did not want to have sex. I told him that I was waiting for my future husband. I said it over and over again, ”she recalls.

Five years later, a fan reported a similar crime that occurred on tour in 2001. In an interview, Shannon Ruth recounted how Carter invited her onto a bus, forced her to drink alcohol, took her to a bed, and there, allegedly, she was raped. “After he raped me, I remember him calling me a ‘retarded bitch’ and grabbing me leaving bruises on my arm.”she recalled, adding that she was infected with the human papillomavirus. In both cases, Carter denied the facts.
