Nicki Minaj's concert in England postponed after being arrested

MANCHESTER.- He concert of Nicki Minaj scheduled for Saturday night – May 25 – in Manchester was postponed after Dutch police discovered marihuana in the singer’s bags as she prepared to leave the country.

Promoter Live Nation said the performance will be rescheduled and tickets will be honored.

“Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore every avenue to put on tonight’s show, it was impossible due to the incidents at this show,” the promoter said in a statement. “We are very disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused.”

Minaj posted on social media hours earlier that she had been detained at Amsterdam airport when she was about to board a plane to travel to her concert in Manchester. The police told her that they found marijuana in her purse and she would have to be weighed.

Nicki Minaj is fined and released

Cannabis is illegal in the Netherlands, but is tolerated for recreational use.

Robert Van Kapel, spokesman for the Dutch military police, stated that a 41-year-old American woman had been arrested for exporting soft drugs. He did not identify the woman or give details of the type of narcotics in question. Police later tweeted that the woman was fined and she was released.

Minaj tweeted that she believes the police just wanted to make her late for the concert in Manchester. “I told them, it’s to try to make me late so they can write negative articles. Envy is a disease. “You already know the rest,” said the artist.

Their representatives did not immediately respond to messages sent on Saturday.

The Trinidad-born rapper is best known for her hits Super Freaky Girl, Anaconda y Starships. She has been nominated for 12 Grammy Awards throughout her career. The Manchester concert is part of their tour Pink Friday 2which includes dates in Paris, Poland, Germany, Romania and Switzerland.
