Torreón, Mexico.- Two days after a dismembered body was located in the municipality of Francisco I. Madero, Coahuila, the State Attorney General’s Office reported that these remains correspond to Dayan Yamil Favela Quiñones, 34 years old, who was reported missing in the city of Gómez Palacio, Durango, on January 11.

The agency announced today through a statement that the remains were found in the Buenavista ejido, on Sunday afternoon, for which an investigation file was initiated under the femicide protocol.

The disappearance of the young woman, who was domiciled in Torreón and worked in the human resources area of a Gómez Palacio company, was widely publicized by her family and friends, who through social networks and the media requested the collaboration of the lagoons for its location.

Local media reported yesterday that the dismembered body was in bags, buried in a place in the municipality near the suburban area of La Laguna.

And although since yesterday the relatives of Favela Quiñones confirmed that she had been found dead, neither the Durango Prosecutor’s Office, which was where the complaint for her disappearance was filed, nor the Coahuila Prosecutor’s Office, competent for the place where her remains were located, reported about it.
