The short film “Sensitive Content” (Germany, 2022; 8:48 minutes) by Narges Kalhor wins the 3sat Young Talent Award in the German Competition at the 69th International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen. The prize is endowed with 2,500 euros and includes the offer to purchase the excellent contribution and to present it in the 3sat program.
The jury of the German competition stated: “This film asks how we deal with images of the pain of others. A simple icon reveals the ubiquitous images of brutality hidden behind a filter. The film misses acts of state violence as well as acts of solidarity between people, thus testifying to the power of the revolution – Jin, Jiyan, Azadî.”
This year’s jury consists of filmmaker Eren Aksu, curator Anne Bitterwolf and curator Istvan Gyöngyösi.
On Saturday, May 6, 2023, on the occasion of the 69th International Kurfilmtage Oberhausen, 3sat will be presenting the 3sat Short Film Night with films from the past competition from 10:25 p.m Simon(e) Jaikiriuma Paetau and Natalia Escobar. This is followed by the Swiss animation film “Die Fuchskönigin” by Marina Rosset, the TV premiere “Lamarck” by Marian Mayland and the coming-of-age documentary “Comrade Tito, I inherit” by Olga Kosanović, awarded the 3sat Young Talent Prize 2021. All Films have been available in the 3sat media library since Saturday, April 29, 2023 www.3sat.de available.
