A new year has arrived, and that can only mean that the winter season in anime is near. As now, the anime industry will welcome a number of interesting shows this season, and of course, some of the drops have been long anticipated.

One of the most anticipated anime series is the adaptation of Nier: Automataas the hit game is moving to TV, and now, we’ve been given our first look at episode one.

Nier: Automata Ver 1.1a posted his first look at episode one ahead of its release. These new photos show two of its protagonists, among which 2B stands out, as expected. And given the team that oversaw the first episode, you can bet this premiere is going to look terrific.

After all, Ryoji Masuyama he was hired to direct episode one, and they also did the script and a storyboard. Jun Nakai stepped in as animation director and fans will know this artist’s work even if they don’t know his name, after all Nakai is best known for his work on shows like Silver Spoon, Ouran High School Host Club and a great number of Digimon movies, while Masuyama has worked on several successful titles, including The Secret World of Arrietty and Darling in the Franxx.

For those curious about this Nier: Automata anime, you should know that the series is being overseen by A-1 Pictures. Of course, it will follow the story established by Yoko Taro, the hit game from Square Enix. In fact, the creator of the game helped develop the original story of the anime, so gamers and anime fans alike will be in for something new when Nier: Automata launches its anime.
