The next new update for No Man’s Sky is here and the Fractal update is a big one.

And not just because it brings support for Sony’s new VR headset, PlayStation VR2.

The VR innovations of the Fractal update

With the help of PSVR2 you should have a “next generation VR experience”. This includes “reflections, terrain tessellation, a higher draw distance, denser foliage, high-resolution textures, and refraction.”

Other PSVR2 features include headset vibration, 3D audio, intelligent tracking, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

On top of that, you can now switch between VR and standard gameplay at any time from a normal save.

For VR, the user interface and HUD have been completely redesigned so that all interactions should feel natural. In vehicles and spaceships, however, you have a 360-degree view.

Some items also have VR-exclusive options. You can grab plants and other objects with your hands and even open the cockpits with your hands.

More new content

Aside from the VR innovations, there is the Utopia Speeder, a new spaceship and a new, time-limited Utopia Expedition. This will unlock more rewards.

Motion control support is also being added to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Steam Deck. Specifically on the Switch, he will unlock access to all Nexus and Quicksilver missions, as well as the Trace of Metal story.

So once again a comprehensive update for No Man’s Sky. You can find more details here.
