Nature’s greatest light show, the Northern Lights, may be visible tonight in parts of the country, including New York.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration published a line of sight showing the areas with the possibility of seeing the northern lights.
It covers Washington State, Idaho, Montana, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and parts of northern New York, Vermont, and Maine.
This appearance of the northern lights is due to an eruption of solar material on Tuesday.
The geomagnetic storm could also affect electrical networks, satellites and radio frequencies.
Visibility chances are best in Canada and Alaska.
