CDMX.- The Queen of Pop, Madonna, caused a stir after appearing at the Grammy ceremony with changes to her face, such as plumping her lips, braids, a tight suit, fishnet gloves and a thick face.
Netizens began to mock and criticize her appearance, arguing that she does not want to age gracefully, which upset the singer and said that her appearance was not important at the ceremony, since a transgender woman won a Grammy for the first time and that society remains trapped in discrimination and misogyny.
“Kim Petras and Sam Smith at the Grammys, I wanted to give the last award, Album of the Year, but I thought it was more important that I present the first trans woman to perform at the Grammys, a historic moment! And on top of that she won a Grammy !!”, he wrote accompanied by a photo of Kim and Sam.
Madonna commented that she is still trapped in the discrimination that women have because of their age and the misogyny with which the world prevails.
“Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that pervades the world we live in.
A world that refuses to celebrate women over the age of 45 and feels the need to punish her if she continues to be strong, hardworking and adventurous,” she wrote.
The interpreter of “Like A Virgin” assured that her face looks like this because a photographer captured her with a long lens, which distorted her body.
“Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech, which was about giving thanks for the bravery of artists like Sam and Kim, many people chose to talk about close-up photos of me taken with a long-lens camera by a photographer than to distort anyone’s face!” he wrote.
Madonna has won seven Grammy Awards and has been nominated 28 times for Grammy Award in recent years.
This year the interpreter of “Boderline” announced a tour to honor her career, it is expected that in a few days she will announce dates in Latin America, including Mexico.
