The Buenos Aires teachers gathered in Suteba Multicolor, the union’s dissident wing, called a 48-hour strike in rejection of the salary agreement accepted by the Teacher Unity Front (FUDB). The measure, which entails a battery of claims, will be on May 17 and 18.
Through a statement, they stated that “teachers demand solutions.” And they called for “an end to the squeeze and threats from the Kicillof government against the teacher strikes.”
Among the claims, they listed “salary equal to the family basket for the position of preceptor with monthly indexation for inflation”, “protection against situations of violence” and “defense of our working conditions”.
In addition, they will demonstrate against “the anti-educational and anti-statutory reforms”, “creation of all missing positions and creation of schools”, “universalization of the sufficient and nutritious SAE”, “full IOMA benefits, no co-payments” and ” Enough of the delay in the retirement procedures, regularization of the payment of salaries”.
