Microsoft storage service, which is included in the Microsoft 365 subscription with a whopping 1 TB of storage, can be used on different platforms. On iOS, camera upload now supports uploading RAW photos in their original format. So, the app backs up RAW and ProRAW photos with the highest quality.
The RAW format is an image file format that stores the image data of a (digital) camera as it was read by the image sensor. It is a “raw” image format as it does not undergo any processing or compression and thus contains all the original data of the image. The RAW format is therefore less compressed compared to other image formats such as JPEG or PNG and therefore usually offers higher quality, but also larger file sizes.
ProRAW is a digital image format introduced by Apple for its iPhone models. It is a combination of a RAW image and a ProRes video and is intended to give the photographer more control and flexibility in image editing. Unlike other RAW formats, which only store the raw data of an image, ProRAW also contains the “Deep Fusion” image processing technology developed by Apple. This technology uses artificial intelligenceto enhance the image and sharpen details.
