With the “Find N2 Flip”, Oppo is launching a new clamshell phone on the European market. This so-called flip phone has a second screen on the outside, which can be used to read news or control media playback when folded. The Chinese manufacturer promises five years of updates for the Find N2 Flip, which should be available for around 1000 euros.

The AMOLED main screen of the Oppo Find N2 Flip measures 6.8 inches, has a resolution of 2520×1080 pixels and offers a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. With a maximum brightness of 1600 nits, it should also be easy to read in sunlight. The outer secondary display, on the other hand, is 3.26 inches and offers 30 to 60 Hz with a resolution of 720×382 pixels and a maximum of 900 nits. Various widgets can be displayed here, but the camera can also be controlled without having to open the cell phone.

The basis of the Oppo Find N2 Flip is a system-on-chip (SoC) from Mediatek with an integrated 5G modem. The Dimensity 9000 Plus is a slightly higher clocked version of the Dimensity 9000 for smartphones, the first ARMv9 processor with 4 nm technology, which was presented at the end of 2021. This has the ARMv9 cores Cortex-X2, Cortex-A710 and Cortex-A510 in a 1+3+4 structure and should be able to stand up to the competition from Qualcomm or Apple in the high-end area. In synthetic benchmarks, the Dimensity 9000 Plus is only slightly below the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the current top model among smartphone processors.

When it comes to the cameras, Oppo is working with the traditional brand Hasselblad in the Find N2 Flip. On the back of the phone there is a main camera with an f/1.8 aperture for 50 megapixels and a 112-degree wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture for 8 megapixels. A 32 MP camera with f/2.4 aperture is available for selfies, which can also be controlled by gestures.

At 4300 mAh, the built-in battery of the Oppo Find N2 Flip is larger than Samsung’s competitor model, the Galaxy Z Flip4 introduced last year, and should be able to be quickly charged with 44 watts via the USB-C port. Oppo promises a 50 percent state of charge within 23 minutes. In addition, the new flip phone offers dual SIM. Oppo’s ColorOS based on Android 13 is pre-installed as the operating system. This should be provided with updates within the next five years.

The Oppo Find N2 Flip is equipped with 8 GB of main memory and 256 GB of storage space, but it should not be available in Germany for the time being. Product information is still not available on Oppo’s German website after Oppo had to stop shipping smartphones due to patent infringements last summer. Nokia had previously sued the smartphone manufacturer.

Interested parties at Oppo Find N2 Flip would therefore have to order abroad. This is possible in France, for example, where the flip phone can be pre-ordered from Oppo itself or from the French Amazon online shop for 1100 euros.
