Hogwarts Legacy, the first proper RPG based on the Harry Potter universe, launches on February 10. With only a month to go, it’s probably good for avid PC gamers to find out whether they can run the game or not, so we’ve gathered the system requirements here.
Developer Avalanche Software – known for, among other things, the Disney Infinity series – has shared both minimum requirements and recommended hardware. The former is good enough for 720p resolution and 30 frames per second, while the latter pushes it up to 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second.

- Processor: Intel Core I5-660 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Video card (Nvidia): GeForce GTX 960 with 4 GB of video memory
- Video card (AMD): Radeon RX 470 with 4 GB of video memory
- DirectX: DirectX 12
- Storage: 85 GB of free space
Recommended hardware:
- Operating system: Windows 10 (64-bit)

- Memory: 16 GB RAM

Avalanche also recommends that you install Hogwarts Legacy on an SSD, regardless of the graphics quality you choose.
It is also worth noting that the game will only be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S initially. As a result of a recently announced delay, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will have to wait until April 4th, while those on Nintendo Switch will only get their hands on July 25th.
Hogwarts Legacy was originally unveiled in autumn 2020. The game takes us to the wizarding world of the 19th century, long before the time of Harry Potter. Here you start as a student at Hogwarts, before stepping out into a large and open world full of various adventures.
