Oppo is entering the foldable smartphone market in France with the arrival of the Oppo Find N2 Flip. A model that is positioned opposite the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, the current reference in terms of smartphone in clamshell format. It is launched for pre-order today in France at 1100 euros in a single configuration available.
Oppo is attacking Samsung in the foldable smartphone market, more particularly in the clamshell segment, which is currently enjoying great success, compared to the Fold book format. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, market benchmark, may have a serious competitor in its field: the Oppo Find N2 Flip, which we were able to test.
Oppo’s first foldable smartphone in France
The Find N2 Flip is the brand’s first foldable model to be released in France. What sets it apart the most from Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip is its larger external screen. With a diagonal of 3.26 inches in vertical format, it wants to meet more needs when the phone is in the folded position. A positioning similar to the Motorola Razr 2022, which also had a larger external screen. For Oppo, such a screen allows you to display up to six notifications, take selfies, send pre-written replies, record a voice note or answer calls. All powered by a system of customizable widgets.
As for the internal screen, it is a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel which offers a 21: 9 format and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The brightness seems to be there. with 1200 cd/m² maximum. As for the hinge, Oppo says that it has tested it beyond 400,000 folds and announces that it has been designed to be more compact and more robust than the previous generation (which was not released with us). 400,000 folds, this allows the smartphone to be opened and closed almost 100 times every day for more than ten years.
The Oppo Find N2 Flip wants to compete with the Galaxy Z Flip 4 on autonomy
The main complaint against the Galaxy Z Flip is its low autonomy: it is sometimes difficult to last a full day with this foldable. Oppo intends to respond to this with a model with a 4300 mAh battery. The manufacturer prides itself in fact that you can last a full day on one charge. Charging the Oppo Find N2 Flip, by the way, is 44 W, which recovers up to 50% of the battery in 23 minutes and 100% in less than an hour.
Enough to power the SoC Dimensity 9000+, developed especially for this model. Enough to take full advantage of ColorOS 13, the brand’s latest Android 13 version. The latter also announces four years of major updates and five years of security updates, which positions it alongside Samsung in this area.
Price and availability of the Oppo Find N2 Flip
The Oppo Find N2 Flip is already available for pre-order and will be released this February 28 on the Oppo online store and at resellers. Two colors will be available: black and purple. Only one configuration will be offered, which includes 256 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM.
