The Ile-de-France festival announces this Monday a first slew of names for its 2023 vintage. A return after two editions canceled by the Covid-19 and a third cut short by bad weather.

Orelsan, Little Simz, Lomepal or Apple: the Ile-de-France festival We Love Green returns in June with a neat poster. The first names were revealed on Monday, at the same time as the opening of the ticket office. After two editions canceled due to health crisis (2020 and 2021), WLG had to give up on its big Saturday evening last year due to heavy rains and violent storms in the Paris region.

The environmentally conscious festival is therefore returning from June 2 to 4 to its lair in the Bois de Vincennes with a poster that allows you to meet heavyweights from French festivals and other rarer artists in France.

Pomme, Lomepal, Orelsan, Dinos, PLK, Gazo, Phoenix, Bon Iver… In addition to these big names on the French and international scenes, the English rapper Little Simz is a choice catch.

British rising star

His last album, No Thank You, was released in December 2022, against all practices, as a big thumbs up to the music industry. Either a release on a Monday and not a Friday, a day dedicated by the music business to a broadcast. And this, without being preceded by a single single or a promotional campaign as is customary.

His first clip was over ten minutes long, actually mixing clips from different titles and their associated videos.

“Little Simz reminds me of Kae Tempest (another British artist with a maverick ray), not on the instrumental part but on the flow, extremely dense. The rebellion, clearly, is on their side”, had commented at the time for AFP Luc Broussy, director of the musical magazine Magic.

Veteran American rapper Pusha T is also one of the nuggets of the delivery, as is another comeback, Jack Johnson. We Love Green had welcomed 80,000 people in total in 2019 during its last edition in optimal conditions.
