Microsoft’s mail service has indeed suffered an outage for several hours around the world, preventing the redirection of spam messages in the junk mail of users. All emails ended up in the main inbox.

On Twitter, many users of the service expressed their incomprehension in the face of this influx of spam. Because in addition to being annoying, these emails can be dangerous because they are associated with phishing attempts and scams.

“We have identified the source of the issue and taken steps to resolve it. We will continue to monitor to ensure the issue remains mitigated,” the company said. Several Microsoft services, including Outlook, had already suffered a breakdown at the end of January, following a network configuration problem.
