VShis is a five-page letter, signed by the Federal Prosecutor, Frédéric Van Leeuw, and sent to the President of the European Parliament (EP) and its Committee on Legal Affairs. The evening obtained a copy of the request for waiver of immunity of MEPs Andrea Cozzolino and Marc Tarabella, as part of the vast investigation into corruption and interference by Qatar and Morocco in the European Parliament. If the chapter devoted to the Italian elected official is a “hypothetical investigation”, to use the words of his lawyers in a press release published on Saturday, the paragraphs devoted to the mayor of Anthisnes are of a completely different ilk.
