As part of his PhD, Alicia investigates the environmental impacts of electricity generation with offshore wind turbines. And thanks to this research, she was recently invited to participate in a meeting of international experts where the harmonization of the life cycle methodology for the wind sector will be discussed.

“I had the opportunity to coincide with the representative from Germany of the IEA Wind Energy Cooperation Program. I shared details about my work and as a result of our interaction, he extended the invitation to participate. In addition, the director of my institute gave the go-ahead for me to assume the role of representative” the young woman told the newsroom of TODAY/Nación Media with enthusiasm.

Alice commented that goes with the staff of German experts and representatives from 23 countries will participate in the event. He also added that the objective of the meeting is share information and carry out research activities to promote the deployment of wind energy globally.

I am enthusiastic about my work and committed to contributing with sustainable solutions for the energy future, considering the environmental and climatic challenges that we currently face”, he pointed out.

The young Paraguayan explained that in our country it is feasible to apply wind energybut it depends on many factors, such as investing in wind farms.

“It is true that the installation of wind farms can be expensive, even more than installing natural gas thermal power plants, but in the context of our country, could be considered an interesting optionespecially in terms of guaranteeing energy independence,” he highlighted.
