Who is taking part in this lavish and glamorous dance competition, how is it scored and when is there something to see? Here you can find out everything you need to know about let’s dance“ need to know.

What “Let’s Dance” is about

In this dance show, celebrities compete with professional ballroom dancers in standard, latin and fashion (freestyle) dances.

The format starts with the big introductory show, in which it is determined which celebrity is allowed to dance with which professional. A week later, on February 24th, the competition begins.

The professional dancers have one week to teach their protégés a choreography, which they then present together in the big show. It’s not just the choreography that counts, but also the charisma and technique.

A real eye-catcher is not only the dance, but also the special costumes in which the couples twirl across the stage. For the stats: up until the ninth season alone, over 1850 sets of clothing were designed and completed.

After each dance, each jury member gives a rating between one and ten.

In addition to the jury rating, the audience also determines which couples are still present in the subsequent program of “Let’s Dance”. At the end of the show you can call for your favourites.

This is how “Let’s Dance” is evaluated

  • The last place in the jury evaluation gets one point, the penultimate two points and so on.
  • It’s the same with the placements of the viewer rating.
  • The results of the viewer rating (number of callers or ranking list) are not disclosed.
  • The highest-placed player gets as many points as there are still couples in the race in the respective episode. The jury and viewer ratings are also included. The pair with the fewest points is eliminated.

If several couples have the same rating, the couple with the lowest viewer rating is eliminated.
