On the 18th anniversary of the Cromañón massacre, singer Patricio Santos Fontanet, who led the band Callejeros on the fateful night of December 30, 2004, gave a show this afternoon with his new band “Don Osvaldo” at the Obelisco.

Before the band takes the stage, from No Nos Cuenten Cromañón they stressed: “Everyone and all the survivors have the right to spend this date wherever they want, and that from that moment on and forever that stage is their place (in reference to Mr. Osvaldo)”. From the organization they understand the band as part of the victims of the Cromañón massacre, which is why they give it a place in the commemorative acts of December 30. In 2021 it was the first time they played in an act of the organization and the first time that “Pato” Fontanet and Christian “Dios” Torrejón, both former Callejeros, set foot on Buenos Aires soil again to give a recital since 2004.

From No Nos Cuenten Cromañón they thanked the members of Don Osvaldo for “for always showing their faces and for moving forward” and the public also cheered the artists entering the stage set up on Lavalle street, where hundreds of people began to wave flags with phrases alluding to the massacre such as “Music doesn’t kill” and “I’ll take the kids forever”.

Don Osvaldo played for about 20 minutes without making any allusion to the massacre, he began the recital with the song Normal from the last album and continued with Ciegos, O No, Más Allá and closed with Dos Secas, all sung by those who gathered emotionally at the Obelisk and effusiveness.

After concluding the recital, the public began to sing “corruption kills these kids” and “Callejeros is a feeling that I can’t stop”, typical chants that are played at every Don Osvaldo recital, where the public does not forget the 194 kids who lost their lives in Cromañón.

In addition, Estala de Carlotto, head of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, who always accompanied the survivors and relatives of the victims of the Cromañón massacre, was also present.

“How can we grandmothers not be here defending this wonderful youth? Surely bad intentions want to crush, silence, intimidate them, but they forget which generation they belong to: to the struggle of the present and the future. Of course, injustice It’s the worst and you can’t bear it and you have to fight, in peace, but you have to fight against it. Those who make music don’t kill,” Carlotto said.

And he concluded: “I know the group, they have been in my house, long before foreseeing this hell that they are living, but they get out of hell and when they get out, heaven awaits them, from this beloved country that is making progress in letting Power know Judicial that there is a town that watches over you, not to loosen up, raise your spirits, help us, shake hands and know that we grandmothers will always be with you”.

The organization also told that a mental health assistance network was launched, it is called “From Inside” and it is self-managed, directly aimed at survivors and relatives of the victims of the Cromañón massacre.

Among other artists also participated in the act Dangerous Innocents, The bitch that gave birth to them Y Peteco Carabajal. Likewise, within the act, the expropriation project of the property where the Cromañón nightclub operated was also discussed in order to carry out a memory space, which this year came out in the Chamber of Deputies and Senators, but the property has not yet been expropriated.
