The former wrestler displays impressive plastic acquired during his years in the WWF (World Wrestling Federation). Shapely buttocks, slender legs, drawn arms and protruding jaws, his stature imposes and he seems to occupy the whole screen and, in fact, all the attention. But his performance is not only physical. The actor shows real comic talent by playing this warrior low from the front, ready to do anything to make peace reign, without worrying about collateral damage. He plays on the border of parody, without ever falling into excess and even allows himself moments of emotion.

The discussions with his father, played by the excellent Robert Patrick, give rise to touching sequences. More interestingly, Peacemaker’s inability to obey orders to kill children causes him to question himself. How far can we go to keep the peace? A fascinating philosophical question. Even if the essential asset of this series remains its childish humor and that it approaches it with lightness, it is enough to add depth to the plot. This case of conscience, experienced by many soldiers – and superheroes – suggests behind the shell of this “big guy” full of muscles, an unsuspected vulnerability. Not so schoolboy and deeper than she looks, Peacemaker has a clever and very fun scenario! This first season has a taste of too little. But it’s time for celebrations, since a season 2 is already on the way!
