Bahn warns after the accident in Oberhausen: Modern trains can hardly be heard

Residents report that they have seen pedestrians in a hurry at this point several times simply marching across the tracks, even though the level crossing barriers were down.

It is not without reason that the railways and the police regularly warn against such careless behavior: With trains going 200 kilometers a hour, there is no chance of avoiding the locomotive. The modern trains can hardly be heard, and by the time you see them on the horizon, it’s already too late. (red)

A first report incorrectly stated that the man died in the accident. We apologize for this error.
