New participant record at the forest team championship.

Hittisau. The tennis players from the Bregenzerwald are back in the starting blocks and already busy training. On Saturday, May 20th, the popular team championship begins, with sport and socializing not neglected. This year, as in 2017, the organizer is TC Hittisau, on whose facility the A final and the award ceremony with a closing party will also take place on Saturday, July 1st. 14 clubs from the region submitted their entries for a total of 25 teams. That means a new participant record. As always, there are four men and two women per team in singles and doubles in a total of nine games.

In the highest performance level, the A-League, the reigning champion and multiple forest champion UTC Egg is the favorite among the eight teams initially divided into two groups. UTC Alberschwende also wants to have a say in the championship title again this year, after being beaten by the Mittelwald 4:5 after a 4:0 lead last season. The RTC Bezau, the TC Riefensberg and the strong climber TC Lingenau should not be underestimated.

Relegated UTC Schoppernau, TC Hittisau, TC Sulzberg and TC Krumbach will probably win the title in the B-League, which also consists of two groups in the regular season. The level of performance in the C-League, in which nine second and third teams are involved in three groups this year, is difficult to assess because the teams often mix up their line-ups.

All information about this year’s Bregenzerwald team championship is under BWMM 2023 – Tennisclub Hittisau (tc-hittisau.at) evident.
