It is Tappara and Pelicans who settle for the gold in the hockey league. On Thursday night, the Pelicans won at home over Ilves with 3–1 and reached the final with 4–2 in games.

The Pelicans are having an excellent season in the FM league in ice hockey. The base series four Pelicans are now in the finals after first knocking out KalPa with 4-3 in the quarter-finals and then Ilves with 4-2 in the semi-finals.

The Lahti team secured their final ticket by defeating Ilves 3–1 at home. The Ilve team won the first semi-final, but then the Pelicans won four out of five games.

The Pelicans got off to a brilliant start in the fifth semi-final when the team took a 3-0 lead after 21.57 through Topias Vilén. Joni Ikonen and Aatu Jämsen accounted for the home team’s two goals in the first period.

Ilves needed 44 minutes to open the scoring account, but the visitors got no closer than a reduction goal by Henrik Haapala.

The final series starts in a week

For the Pelicans, the final series will be the second. In the 2011–12 season, Lahtisklubben had to settle for silver after a 1–4 final loss against JYP.
