A spectacular accident rocked a neighborhood in Quincy, Massachusetts, after a pickup truck crashed into a home.

A heavy first responder presence was seen at the Lafayette Street home during the early hours of Wednesday morning. The front of the truck appeared to be inside the house.

Shortly thereafter, state police reported that they responded to a single-vehicle crash into a home at 242 Furnace Brook Pkwy in Quincy. Quincy police, fire and emergency medical services also responded. All the occupants of the house were safe, he told himself. A light pole was also knocked down.

According to police, the van was being driven by Sean M. Lehane, 35, of Quincy. A statement sent by the police details that, after the crash, Lehane got out of the truck, ran down the street and entered a forest.

Quincy police officers were said to have entered the woods along with one of their K9 teams looking for the suspect, who eventually turned himself in.

Authorities said they saw signs of disability in Lehane, claiming they smelled of alcohol on her breath, her eyes were bloodshot and her eyes were glassy. He refused to take field sobriety tests, officers said, adding that they determined he had been driving under the influence of alcohol.

Lehane was arrested and faces four charges: operating under the influence, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident causing property damage and violating marked lanes. He was taken to the state police headquarters in South Boston for booking and was expected to appear in Quincy District Court for an arraignment.

The home had structural damage, but a city building inspector determined it was safe for the family to stay inside overnight.

Everyone inside the home was safe, officials added.
