Port St. Lucie police managed to apprehend a suspected dancer-thief shortly after he stole a watch. His rhythmic movements were caught on camera.

This jewelry store in Port St. Lucie was where 23-year-old Mica Rice decided to try on a watch on June 8. Video from security cameras shows the suspect trying on his watch, walking from the counter and starting to dance, walking backwards and leaving the business. When leaving the business, calmly, she finishes drinking the alcoholic drink she had and runs off, while the employees go after him.

The police were immediately called and the employees gave them the description and car in which he fled. Based on the vehicle’s license plate, they found him at a Walmart two miles away.

Adam Doty, Detective, says:

“When they found the individual in the parking lot, they saw that he had several items in his hands, which were stolen from Walmart. They took the suspect into custody and found on his wrist the watch that had been stolen from the jewelry store.”

According to authorities, the stolen Citizen brand watch had a value of approximately $900. The suspect admitted to stealing the watch.

“He has mental health issues that he is dealing with but he did admit to taking the watch without paying for it.”

Micah Rice is facing grand theft charges and was set on $5,000 bail by the judge.
