Political asylum is approved for Cubans who arrived in Ala Delta

An immigration judge in Miami today granted political asylum to the two Cubans who landed in a sector Delta motorized, last March, at the Key West Airport.

According to lawyer Willy Allen, who represented Ismael Hernández Chirino, and David López Alfonso, the judge granted him asylum after both passed the credible fear interview, although the United States government appealed their decision.

This means that López Alfonso and Hernández Chirino will remain in the Krome detention center for now.

Both pilots made history when they landed on Saturday March 25 in Key West. The flight took just over two hours from the base of Tarará, where the motorized hang glider of the “Trike” type provided tourist services in the Air Sports modality.
