To renew your nonimmigrant visa at the United States Embassy, the first thing you must do is identify the type of visa you have because nonimmigrant visas can be for different purposes.
As explained by the US Government, the second step is to fill out the DS-160 form. It must be completed and submitted online prior to your appointment and the barcode number that appears on the document confirmation page is required in order to schedule the interview.
The third step is to fill out the applicant’s profile and make the payment, which you can do from this link. It is recalled that as of June 17, the Embassy made an increase in visa fees, the cost for the different types ranges between 185 and 315 dollars.
Once each of these steps has been satisfactorily completed, you must wait and appear for the interview on the agreed day, either at the Embassy’s Visa Center (VAC) in Galería 360 or at its building located in the Dominican Republic.
It is recalled that non-immigrant visas are those intended for those who plan to visit the United States temporarily for business or pleasure, including those granted to students or exchange visitors, temporary or contract workers, visitors for diplomatic matters, officials, and United Nations; journalists and others who will be in the country for limited periods of time.
As the expiration date approaches, the beneficiaries of a non-immigrant visa, commonly called “tour visas”, must request the US Embassy to renew it, for which reason the diplomatic mission in Santo Domingo recalled the steps to carry out the process.
