Members of the fixed patrol “Puente General Belgrano”, dependent on Squadron 51 of the National Gendarmerie, arrested a man (of legal age) from Posadas and seized almost four kilograms of marijuana, when controlling a long-distance bus at the height of the city of Barranqueras (Chaco).
The procedure was carried out on National Route 16, when the gendarmes searched the luggage of the passengers of a long-distance bus that hours before had left Misiones for Córdoba.
They were alerted by the strong smell emanating from a backpack, and upon opening it, the uniformed officers detected a package wrapped in packing tape that contained the vegetable substance, for which they deepened the control of the owner’s ticket, identifying a second backpack, which hid other two packets.
The officials confirmed a total of 3 kilos 921 grams of marijuana and proceeded to arrest the passenger who had boarded the transport unit in the capital of Misiones. Federal Court No. 2 of Resistance intervened in the case.
