Possible irregularities in NYFD building inspection

The fire department is under fire this Monday for allegedly giving preference to buildings and builders that receive inspections from its agency.

NY1 News has obtained internal documents and emails from the department that show a priority list has existed for at least the past two years.

The last list we have is from June 2022.

This includes buildings such as Hudson Yards, the Ritz-Carlton hotel and some of Facebook’s offices in the city.

The Adams administration recently denied that certain buildings receive special treatment and has denied the existence of the list.

Adams has faced controversy following reports that he urged the fire department to speed up inspections of the Turkish consulate in 2021 while running for mayor.
