Bludenz. “Together give my strengths space and a future”. The EU-funded LEADER project “Bildungsquartier Bludenz Mitte” started under this motto in July 2022.

As part of a focus workshop, business representatives now had their say.

In the school district of Bludenz Mitte (there are VS, MS, kindergartens, city school center and Caritas in the immediate vicinity) a lively shared place is to be created. Children, young people and families are to be given the opportunity to pursue a future-oriented and promising educational path with optimal conditions for starting a career and lifelong learning.

In recent months, numerous participation formats have taken place with citizens of the city of Bludenz, children and young people. For one afternoon, those responsible for the project invited to the 1st Bludenz Economic Forum as part of the project in the hall in the school park. Numerous entrepreneurs, business people, specialists from educational institutions and the political leaders of the city of Bludenz were informed about the current project status by the moderator team (Cordula Kreidl and Bertram Strolz) after the words of welcome from the Vice President of the State Parliament Monika Vonier and Mayor Simon Tschann. Kriemhild Büchel-Kapeller (Office of the Vorarlberg State Government – Office for Voluntary Commitment and Participation) illustrated the challenges in the education sector and the importance of education and business in a world of change as part of her presentation “Courage for the Future”.

In the interactive part of the afternoon, those present were invited to actively participate. The main focus was on considerations of possible sustainable cooperation options between business and education.

Conclusion of the afternoon: business and politics share responsibility for the education of children and young people and thus lay the foundation for future cooperation with the aim of the best possible training for tomorrow’s specialists. “This is also a big concern for me personally. Our goal is to support and expand Bludenz’s educational offerings in the best possible way. Joint action and joint responsibility for tomorrow’s solutions have top priority,” Bludenz Mayor Simon Tschann is convinced.

“In the future it will be more important to enter into cooperation and to act together for the benefit of the children, young people and families in Bludenz. Thanks to the support of the state and the EU, such large projects can be implemented and financed,” emphasized Ralf Engelmann, department head in the Bludenz town hall, the importance of the EU leader program.
