Members of the Naval Prefecture dismantled a smuggling operation and seized a shipment of 8,800 kilograms of soybeans that was going to be illegally transported to Brazil.

It happened in the town of El Soberbio and from the federal force they detailed that “the kidnapping was the result of control tasks” carried out at kilometer 1150 of the Uruguay River.

“A group of people loaded packages from a truck onto a boat, so, suspecting an illegal act, a patrol went to the place and found that there were 198 burlap bags with each one more than 44 kilos of grains. soybeans inside,” PNA reported in a statement.

It was learned that the Prefecture identified four men and confiscated the merchandise, which was made available to the Oberá Customs General Directorate and, in addition, kidnapped the truck and the boat used to cross the Uruguay River.

The unusual thing is that in full operation two other men unrelated to the situation were arrested while trying to rob the hijacked boat.

The Federal Court of Oberá, in charge of Alejandro Gallandat Luzuriaga, intervenes in the case, who indicated that the suspects be released but subject to the cause.
