Personnel from the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA) thwarted the smuggling of 105 bundles of tobacco, which were about to be illegally taken out of the country, through the Uruguay River, in El Soberbio.

According to what was reported by official sources of the force, the troops observed a group of people handling various packages from a truck to two boats.

In this way, the uniformed officers proceeded to seize the load, in the case of 105 bales of unprocessed tobacco of 44.1 kilograms each, yielding a total of 4,630 kilos and whose value exceeds $5.8 million pesos, the spokespersons detailed.

In addition, they arrested seven men of Argentine nationality, who were subject to the case for violating Law 22,415.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office and Court of Oberá intervenes in the case.
