In a press release made public this Sunday, the Presidency of the Republic announced that “the Head of State, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received a telephone call from his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron”.

During this telephone conversation between the two heads of state, it was understood that the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune is going to France for an official state visit in May 2023.

In addition, the two heads of state exchanged wishes on the occasion of the new year 2023.

In addition, during this telephone conversation, the two Presidents discussed bilateral relations as well as the prospects for cooperation between Algeria and France.

Macron believes he has “not to ask forgiveness” from Algeria

During his interview with the Algerian writer Kamel Daoud in the French weekly Le Point, French President Emmanuel Macron believes that he has “not to ask forgiveness” from Algeria for colonization, because it would amount to a “balance of any account”. Hoping to welcome the President of the Republic, Abdelmajid Tebboune to France in 2023 to continue the work of memory and reconciliation between the two countries.
