The Minister of Tourism and Sport, Matthias Lammensconfirmed that this year there will be a fourth edition of the Previaje programwhich seeks to promote domestic tourism by returning a percentage of purchases made in the sector, in the form of credit to spend on tourism, leisure and entertainment.

The system implemented by the Government will continue in a fourth stage during the first semesteras contemplated in the 2023 Budget, although it will be in low season and after the summer that currently mobilizes thousands of Argentines.

“It will be a fundamental tool for tourism, which leads the economic recovery of Argentina,” said Lammens, who assured that The idea is that the program takes place in the low season to allow “entrepreneurs to have a good level of turnover throughout the year”.

According to the Minister, the next edition of the program could arrive “between May and June, which are the lowest months” and thus allow “a good influx of tourists throughout the country.” The truth is that the date will depend on the capacity of the program.

Although it is still under analysis, it is estimated that new price values will be established for each category and each region in the hotels. That is to say, that the tourist complexes must respect a list of maximum prices according to their category that will be scheduled in a timely manner.

In the last edition of the Previaje, the refund limit amount was $70,000 per person over 18 years of age in lodging expenses, regular cabotage air-commercial transportation, and ground transportation. Reimbursement on other services such as car rentals was $5,000 maximum.

The system returns 50% of the purchases in tourism services within the country, so that this money can be used again in new purchases in shops and affiliated services in the chosen destination.
