In the preview of the Buenos Aires Peronism meeting to be held in the city of Merlo, the governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof; the president of the provincial PJ and national deputy, maximum kirchner; ministers and mayors met today in La Plata, hours before the meeting attended by the interior ministers, Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro; and of Economy, Sergio Massa.
The meeting at the Government House in La Plata was also attended by the Chief of Staff, Martin Insaurralde; the government minister, Cristina Alvarez Rodriguez; the head of the Treasury, paul lopez; your Community Development peer, Andres Larroque; the communal chiefs Federico Achaval (Pillar), Jorge Ferraresi (Avellaneda), John Andreotti (San Fernando), Mario Secco (Cove), Carlos Ramil (Escobar), the Buenos Aires deputy Mariano Cascallares and the president of Grupo Provincia, Gustavo Menendez.
The meeting is part of the round of meetings that have been taking place since 2022 and topics such as “the continuity of the execution of the budget approved by the Legislature, the infrastructure plan carried out by the provincial government and the works that are underway” were addressed. Buenos Aires municipalities, taking into account the ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice that has a direct impact on the financing of all the Argentine provinces,” the Province reported in a statement.
It was indicated that the educational and health transformation programs that are part of the priorities established for 2023 were also analyzed. And “the concern about the implications of the arbitrary ruling (of the Supreme Court in favor of the city of Buenos Aires on co-participation) that requires a detailed follow-up of each area with the firm intention of avoiding that the people of Buenos Aires pay the consequences of the political decision of the Court to solve the electoral campaign of the opposition”.
In the city of Merlo, west of the Buenos Aires suburbs, 19 officials, the Provincial Justicialista leadership and mayors will meet at the Quinta La Colonial, a setting that is usually used for political meetings and which on this occasion will be the platform chosen by the Buenos Aires Peronism to “show unity at the beginning of the election year,” said spokesmen for the sector.
The conclave will also serve to show a kind of unity and the operation of the “discussion space, with the participation of all the actors of the Frente de Todos, which exists in the Province,” the sources added.
The meeting will also include leaders of Buenos Aires Peronism who were mayors for various periods and who are now in charge of ministries or other portfolios, such as the head of National Public Works, Gabriel Katopodis (San Martín), and the Chief of Staff of the Province of Buenos Aires, Martin Insaurralde (Lomas de zamora).
For his part, Massa confirmed his attendance, but warned that he would arrive later since a few hours before the meeting of the PJ he will meet with the Agricultural Liaison Table at the Ministry of Economy.
In the meeting in Merlo, leaders of the Frente Renovador de Massa will also participate; of Nuevo Encuentro, of Martín Sabbatella, and of the Frente Grande, which in the province of Buenos Aires is led by the mayor of Ensenada, Mario Secco.
