The January 2023 PS Plus Extra & Premium games have been revealed. Very heavy to start the year? On the program, narrative, multi and indie.
The three free PS Plus Essential games have been available for a few days now. To start the year, Sony hit hard by offering three big games, including Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, which will allow subscribers to discover the adventures of Cal Kestis before the release of its sequel next March. It is now the turn of those who have subscribed to PS Plus Extra and Premium to find out what games will be added to the catalog of the two new formulas.

The new formulas of PlayStation Plus continue to prove themselves. Inaugurated a few months ago, they allow subscribers to take advantage of new monthly additions to the catalog as for the Xbox Games Pass. If the PS + Premium is still struggling to convince for lack of fully keeping its promise focused on the arrival of retro games, the PS Plus Extra has hit hard in recent months. Between the complete Kingdom Hearts, a cult The Elder Scrolls Skyrim or a whole bunch of strong licenses like Yakuza or the Shadow of Mordor, Sony delights subscribers every month. But precisely, what is the program of the PS Plus Extra of January 2023? The Japanese publisher finally provides an answer.
PS5 and PS4 players were expecting nice surprises to start the year well and it will be placed under the sign of Square Enix. On the program, Life is Strange, Just Cause but also Back 4 Blood, a multiplayer game from the creators of Left 4 Dead. A few well-received independent productions will also be available, including Sayonara Wild Hearts and Jett The Far Shore. All will be available for download from Thursday, January 17. We also recall for all intents and purposes that the PS Plus Extra will lose a dozen games from January 15, 2023. We find in the lot some very popular titles such as Masters of Anima, Leo’s Fortune, Electronic Super Joy or Enigmatis The Ghosts of Maple Creek.

What about PS Plus Premium? Since its launch, the premium formula of the subscription service has disappointed many players. For them, Sony has not delivered the promised offer on several occasions by not adding monthly classics from the PS1, PSP or PS2 era. The Japanese giant has indeed tended too much to capitalize on resmasters or PS3 games rather than retro titles as subscribers were entitled to expect.
