Sony has just rolled out a new update for the PS5 that doesn’t just improve the console’s performance and stability.
After the Nintendo Switch and its variations, the turn of the PS5. Regularly, manufacturers update their respective consoles. Sometimes these updates bring new features, sometimes they fix bugs and often they simply improve the user experience and the performance of the machine. The Nintendo hybrid therefore received a new patch just yesterday and it is now the PS5 which does the same. Here’s what’s changing with this update.
PS5 update 23.01-07.20.00 available
The PS5 is still updating. THE patch 23.01-07.20.00 is now available for download. It will obviously install automatically when the console is launched as usual. The manipulation will be very fast since it weighs only 1.151 GB very exactly. It is therefore once again a simple update routine, but that makes it a little more than usual. No new features in the program, the purpose of this update being to improve the performance of the console but also the messages and their readability on certain screens. Secrets hidden in this update?
And that’s it…for now at least. Like the Nintendo Switch, PS5 updates sometimes hide a few changes that Sony doesn’t officially communicate about. The last big update notably added a new animation when players unlock a Platinum trophy. Other discoveries are more technical and interesting, but we will have to wait before knowing if this PS5 patch 23.01-07.20.00 also hides things.
For the big news, however, we will have to wait for Sony to announce the next update, which will initially be reserved for beta testers. Impossible to know when it will arrive, or what the manufacturer will add or improve in the future. For the record, the last update major had added the long-awaited full integration of Discord on PlayStation 5, the possibility of updating its DualSense without plugging it in and had also offered more flexibility with the VRR.
