Tango Gameworks had a smash hit earlier this year when they sneakily released Hi-Fi Rush, which became incredibly popular. It was a rather unlikely project, as they are otherwise mostly known for their horror games, such as The Evil Within and Ghostwire Tokyo.

But according to the leaker eXtas1s (via Reddit) they will continue to do more unusual projects. His sources, who seem to be at least reasonably credible, claim that Tango Gameworks is currently working on a Japanese role-playing game in a new series.

If you really love their horror games, though, there’s still a chance they’ll make something you’ll like, as they’re reportedly working on a second title as well. Since Tango Gameworks is Microsoft’s first (and only) Japanese studio, we can certainly imagine them trying to grow it and make it a top developer. Making a Japanese RPG could be a great way to potentially reach the domestic audience, while filling a gap when it comes to Xbox first-party titles.

Until we get more information, take all of this with a whole scoop of sea salt.
