Already registered in 2021, the document only entered the public domain at the end of 2022, attracting the attention of various observers.

According to reports, the patent would see a system of cloud gaming based onuse of bridge devices. As illustrated by the images available accompanying the document, the process should in fact involve tools capable of receiving and decoding the inputs entered via PlayStation 5.The patent does not expressly mention solutions such as Apple TV, Amazon Firestick or Google Chromecast (already exploited by the now defunct Google Stadia), but the description offered seems to refer to solutions of this type. Could the patent anticipate official announcements from Sony for the development of cloud gaming on PS5? For the moment it is only a hypothesis, but in the face of the constant expansion of the Xbox Game Pass, the eventuality is far from remote.
