Sony has released a new system update for the PlayStation 5.

Among other things, the new version 22.02-06.50.00 ensures that the console supports the upcoming DualSense Edge Controller.

What else does the update bring?

Apart from the support for the DualSense Edge, it is a rather small standard update.

The DualSense Edge is Sony’s new premium controller for the PlayStation 5, it costs 239.99 euros.

It will be released worldwide on January 26, 2023. In Germany, among other places, it is only available in the in-house PlayStation Direct Store. From February 23, 2023, it should also be available from other retailers.

With the DualSense Edge, for example, specific buttons can be deactivated, you can adjust the sensitivity of the sticks and the dead zones. Different profiles are also possible.

You also have interchangeable stick tips, two types of back button sets and more.

However, the battery life of the DualSense Edge is lower than that of the normal DualSense.
