Is Marvel seriously working on Black Panther 3 as soon as the second part is out? Letitia Wright, the actress of Shuri, answers the question bluntly.
No rest for the MCU which must provide films at a regular rate to respect the schedule of the different phases. In the many projects in development or in reflection, including the one with Harrison Ford, there is already Black Panther 3.
Marvel Already Greenlights Black Panther 3
In a November interview, Ryan Coogler, director of Black Wakanda Forever, already mentioned the future of the franchise. Towards a trilogy? Yes and ideas would have even been exchanged on this third film with Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios.
So where is it? According to Letitia Wright, the interpreter of Shuri, Black Panther 3 is actually under construction at the moment. Shortly before the 2023 Golden Globes, where Wakanda Forever took the MCU where no film had been able to before, she said:
I think it’s already underway. You know, we just had two wonderful years doing Wakanda Forever, and everyone came together to support it. We need a little break and Ryan Coogler needs to get back to it, so it’s going to take some time. But we can’t wait to show you all that.

What we will never see
If Chadwick Boseman was still with us, Wakanda Forever would have been very different. According to the director, there should have been a focus on the return of the character after having disappeared for 5 years, following the carnage of Thanos.
The tone of the film had to be similar…the character had to mourn lost time, returning after being gone for five years. The feature film addressed the return of a man with heavy responsibilities after an enforced absence of five years. He had to mourn a time he couldn’t make up for. Mourning took a big place in his life.
A black panther who would have shared the poster with his sister Shuri for a shock duet, as in the comics.
Shuri was always to become Black Panther. But it was going to be done in a different way with his brother by his side…just like in the comics.
