Mexico City.- The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) the decree by which various provisions of the Airports Law and the Civil Aviation Law are reformed, added and repealed , where the modifications go in the direction of recovering Category 1 in aviation safety and the creation of the State airline.

The document indicates that the modifications to the law reforms are urgent to return to Category 1, as well as to strengthen the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (FAA), in addition to making this industry the safest, having more personnel trained and address the observations found in the inspections that were made.

The changes are also so that users can choose the best option to travel, so that the country continues to be a magnet for tourism and airports are safer, like the airline industry, so that there is real competition that favors the already users and respect the rights of all.

It was detailed that foreign permit holders that provide air services to third parties are prohibited from carrying out cabotage practices in national territory, and that this provision also applies to aircraft operators for private use.

Modifications for the creation and administration of a State airline, as well as an air terminal, were also endorsed.

All modifications and changes in the law were made on Wednesday night, May 3.
