The governor of the state of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, met this Thursday morning with the Consul General of the United States, with the purpose of presenting the strategies that the current administration is implementing in terms of security.

“We met with the Consul General, Dorothy Ngutter, to follow up on the cooperation ties between Quintana Roo and the United States,” Lezama shared through his social networks.

According to the president, during the meeting topics such as the new Citizen Security Law, the Mobility Law and even the Federal Government’s campaign ‘If you get drugs, you get hurt’ were discussed, which will seek to prevent drug use in the state schools.

This with the purpose of presenting to American tourism the strategies through which the State Government will seek to guarantee their safety during their visit to the Mexican Caribbean, since it is one of the most important markets.

It should be remembered that until a few days ago, the Federal Secretariat of Tourism pointed out that the US market has registered an increase in arrivals through one of the destination’s airports, this during the first three months of 2023.

In this sense, the main countries that arrived in Quintana Roo through the Cancun International Airport were from nationalities such as the United States, Canada and Colombia.
