In Hochheide, a 49-year-old was attacked and robbed by an unknown person with pepper spray. They had arranged to meet via Ebay.
During an arranged mobile phone sale in Duisburg-Hochheide, an unknown perpetrator attacked a 49-year-old man with pepper spray and stole his mobile phone.
As the police announced, the two men met on Monday around 8 p.m. in a garage on Lindenstrasse. The 49-year-old from Duisburg had previously offered a Samsung mobile phone for sale on the Ebay sales platform and made an appointment with the unknown potential buyer.
“When the two men met, the stranger immediately sprayed pepper spray in the face of the 49-year-old and snatched his mobile phone,” reports the police. The perpetrator then fled in the direction of Friedhofsallee. The man from Duisburg wanted to follow the robber, but could only see the stranger getting into a car on the passenger side, which immediately drove away.

The seller was slightly injured by the pepper spray attack. However, the man declined the repeated offer of the arriving police officers to call an ambulance.
The perpetrator is said to have worn dark clothes and to be between 20 and 30 years old. The man from Duisburg could not give any clues about the getaway car. The police have started the investigation and are asking for information on 0203 280 0.
