The Rappenloch Gorge is open again on the weekends.

Dornbirn. In the past few weeks, the footbridges have been renovated and the rock faces cleared. This work is necessary every year to remove loosened stones in winter. Since the Easter weekend, the Rappenloch has been open again for weekend excursions.

The falling rocks during the thaw and frost period repeatedly lead to damage to the piers. The hiking trail is therefore closed in winter. The hiking trail through the Alploch cannot be opened yet. More work is needed here.

Until the completion of the new Rappenloch Bridge, the walkway in the area of the construction site will remain closed from Monday to Friday for safety reasons. Hikers can use the footbridge to the bridge, but from the construction site they have to take the alternative road to Staufensee. The closure lasts from Monday, 7 a.m. to Friday, 12 p.m. Work on the bridge is expected to continue until mid-June.
